Pleasanton, CA— May 24, 2016 — NextHome is proud to announce our latest addition to the franchise, NextHome Real Estate Place. The brokerage is the fourth NextHome franchise in the state of Texas.
Owned and operated by local top-producing REALTOR®, Robyn Jones, the Katy-based brokerage will provide residential real estate sales and property management services to the areas of Katy, Richmond, Sugar Land, Fulshear, Cypress, and the remainder of the west Houston area.
The Houston Metro area is home to over 6.3 million people and is the fourth most populated city in the United States, ranking only behind New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Originally from Los Angeles, Jones spent over two decades as an entertainment executive in the field of music publishing. With high profile clients such as Capitol Records, Sony, and Paramount, Jones was responsible for working for some of the most popular musical artists in the world.
In 1996, Jones stepped away from her career in order to attain the law degree she had always wanted. She made the move Atlanta, Georgia to attend Georgia State University, where she graduated with a Masters in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree.
While in school, Jones took a course entitled “Wealth in America” based on real estate. She was fascinated with the class and realized how much interest she had in the world of real estate.
“The course made me realize the majority of wealthy people in the United States built their wealth through real estate,” said Jones. “It was then and there that I wanted to learn more about buying and selling homes and how I could better myself and others through real estate.”
In 1999, Jones attained her Georgia real estate license and began working as a REALTOR® part time with RE/MAX Suburban in Deluth, GA while she completed her degree.
Moving back to LA the following year, Jones began her legal career as a Capitol Legal Attorney and spent the next seven years in the legal field before realizing that the passion for real estate was too strong for her to ignore.
In 2007, Jones moved to Texas when her husband, Alvin, had his job relocated to the Houston area. As they made the move to the Houston suburb of Katy, Jones realized it was the opportunity to start fresh and begin working as a full time REALTOR®.
“When we moved to Katy, we did not know one single person,” recalls Jones. “Add in the fact that in 2007, it was the beginning of the recession and I had every reason to fail. I was determined to make the career change and worked extremely hard to make sure my first year as a full time REALTOR® was successful.”
In her first year in a unfamiliar city, Jones sold over $4,000,000 in real estate. Continuing strong sales numbers, Jones attained her broker’s license and opened her own brokerage, Robyn Jones Homes, in 2010.
As the sales numbers continued to climb, Jones organically grew the company to nearly 20 agents without aggressively recruiting.
“I think our brokerage became an attractive place to work because of how fun and dynamic of a company we have,” added Jones.
In 2015, the office saw in excess of 140 transactions closed and was one of the top selling brokerages in her market.
Knowing that she had to add additional services in order to keep up with the ever changing real estate market, Jones turned to a potential addition of a franchise to help streamline her client process.
“I found NextHome in the National Association of REALTORS® magazine,” said Jones. “Seeing the company lined up with other familiar real estate franchises, I was really interested in finding out how the company was able to grow so quickly. After spending time with NextHome’s Vice President of Sales, Charis Moreno, I knew that NextHome was exactly the company I wanted to be connected with.”
When Jones is not working, she enjoys spending time with Alvin and taking advantage of his skills as a gourmet chef. They love to travel and Jones describes the couple as “foodies”.
The couple have four children between them – Chuck (34), Tony (29), Brandon (24), and Kennon (20).
