Pleasanton, CA— March 29, 2016 — NextHome is proud to announce our latest addition to the franchise, NextHome Integrity. The brokerage is the first NextHome franchisee in the state of Nevada.
Owned and operated by local top-producing REALTOR®, Billy Alt, the Las Vegas-based brokerage will provide residential real estate services to the areas of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City.
The Las Vegas metropolitan area is home to over 2 million residents.
Born in Long Island, New York, Alt worked for over a decade in marketing and promotion for various nightclubs. In addition to working with local New York nightclubs, he also provided marketing services to clubs in Las Vegas and Cancun, Mexico.
After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, Alt was looking for a change. He always had a passion for real estate, just had to decide where to settle down and set up shop.
Two options were in front of him – Phoenix, Arizona or Las Vegas. Based on his familiarity with the city, along with the projected growth of population, Alt chose to move to Las Vegas to start his real estate career.
In 2004, Alt launched his real estate career with a real estate developer, Vegas Valley Properties. He would take investors from outside the Las Vegas area and show them around neighborhoods where the developer was building new homes. Alt would take a full bus of prospective investors to these newly constructed homes, answer all their questions, and then help them with their investment purchase.
During that time, Las Vegas was considered one of the top locations in the world to invest. Not only were investors coming from out of state, but internationally.
In 2006, the market changed drastically across the nation. Las Vegas was one of the hardest hit during the recession.
Alt made the move to a Las Vegas brokerage affiliated with a national franchise. Unfortunately, all was not as it was promised.
“I was told that if I came over, I would be provided leads and that I would have tools and systems that would help me with my business,” recalls Alt. “Nothing was as promised.”
Feeling the frustration, he moved to a local independent brokerage, Wynn Realty Group, where the broker was supportive and encouraged Alt to build his business the right way.
Alt saw incredible year-over-year growth in his business. With over 50 sales per year on a consistent basis, Alt started to build his team to assist in providing world-class service to his clients. In 2009, the addition of an assistant and buyer’s agent provided Alt with the needed help to continue growing.
Today, the team has five licensed members in addition to Alt: Office Manager, Brandy Jordan; Buyer’s Agents, Brian Edwards, Arthur Ramirez, Kimberly Stockwell; and Transaction Coordinator, Lisa Jones.
With each member of the team playing a critical part in the process, the team reached new heights in 2015, selling an incredible 128 homes during the year.
As the team’s business grew, Alt wanted to explore the idea of starting their own brokerage. After speaking with the members of the team and having their full support, Alt started looking at his options to create a brokerage.
Alt found NextHome through a mutual friend at a real estate leadership class.
“She mentioned a new company called NextHome that fit what I was looking for in a real estate franchise,” said Alt. “After seeing what the company had to offer its franchisees, it was a natural fit for us.”
In addition to selling real estate, Alt gives back to the community, country and industry.
Alt served in the Marines from 1993 until 1999, earning the rank of Sargent of the Marine Corps Reserve.
Alt currently serves as President of the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals chapter in Las Vegas. Among the many objectives of the Association, they focus on financial literacy for Veterans, creating sustainable home ownership for Veterans, and making sure all Veterans understand the benefits available to them.
“We also help educate real estate agents about VA loans,” adds Alt. “Many agents overlook accepting VA loans because they don’t understand it. We provide the resource to not only understand the VA loan, but show why accepting an offer with a VA loan is a great option.”
When he’s not selling real estate, Alt chooses a more relaxed lifestyle than his previous career in nightclub promotion.
Alt and his fiancée, Megan have two daughters – four-year-old, Alexa and one-year-old, Olivia.
“My life is so different now and I love it,” adds Alt. “Spending time with my family has become my number one priority.”
