Pleasanton, CA— March 30, 2017 NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the NextHome franchise – NextHome River City. It is the 40th NextHome franchise location opened in the state of California.

Based out of Sacramento, the new brokerage will be owned and operated by 17-year real estate veteran and broker, Michael Klein.

NextHome River City will provide real estate services such as residential sales, new construction sales and investment property sales in the city of Sacramento with a focus on the neighborhoods of Midtown, East Sacramento, and Land Park.

As the state capital of California, Sacramento is home to approximately 500,000 residents. Sacramento is the sixth largest city in California.

Originally from Berkeley, California, Klein moved to Sacramento in 1999 to complete his studies at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.

While in law school, Klein bought a home to rehab and resell. After working with a local real estate agent to help him acquire his investment property, Klein realized he would be better off negotiating his own deals and got his real estate license shortly after selling his rehabbed property.

In 2004, he started Klein Properties, where his main focus was working on real estate developments.

“I really had no intention of working full time as a REALTOR® since I wanted to focus on real estate development,” recalls Klein. “But after seeing how many people wanted me to assist them in selling or buying their home, my business started heading in that direction.”

This pivot in his business led to exceptional sales where his annual sales consistently exceeded $10 million in real estate volume.

In 2014, Intero Real Estate Services was looking for help in expansion and growth in the Sacramento region. Seeing an opportunity to lead and help other agents in their business really appealed to Klein and he took on the role of Managing Partner for the company.

“I have a passion for helping others better themselves personally by improving professionally,” said Klein. “At the time, the opportunity made a lot of sense.”

While running the brokerage, Klein found himself really enjoying the larger brokerage atmosphere, but wanted to return to owning his own company.

Klein found NextHome through a colleague who he had met 20 years prior.

“I found out about NextHome through Keith Robinson, who I have known for nearly two decades,” said Klein. “When I went to the corporate office in Pleasanton, I was able to meet the entire NextHome team and knew right away that the company was different. I wanted to be a part of a company that is going to change the industry.”

When not selling real estate, Klein spends time with his wife of 18 years, Jenny. She works in physical therapy and has spent many years working with children with disabilities.

The Kleins have two children of their own – daughter, Samantha (age 14) and their son, Ben (11). You’ll often find the couple cheering on the kids at their soccer and lacrosse games.

Please join us in welcoming Michael and the rest of his team at NextHome River City for the opening of their brand new NextHome office!
