Pleasanton, CA— May 11, 2017 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Gateway Realty. The new brokerage is the 27th NextHome franchise location opened in the state of Florida.
Based out of Lake City, NextHome Gateway Realty will be owned by Leigh Ann and Richard Mills. Leigh Ann will be handling the day-to-day operations of the brokerage and leading the growth for the office. The brokerage will service the counties of Columbia, Suwannee, Hamilton, Union and Lafayette.
Lake City is home to nearly 13,000 residents and is known as “The Gateway to Florida” due to the Interstate 75 running through the city, carrying a large percentage of commercial and tourist traffic.
The brokerage will provide sales services for residential properties with a specialization in investment properties for rehab and resale.
Licensed since 2001, Leigh Ann started her real estate career with a small independent brokerage before moving to RE/MAX a year later. In 2003, she was asked to take over leadership for a RE/MAX branch office in Lake City.
In just six years, she helped grow the brokerage to over 60 agents in two locations.
Over the next few years, Leigh Ann excelled in the real estate industry in various roles. One of these roles included the position of Embedded Consultant for a division of the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.). She evaluated property parcels for encumbrances that would prevent the D.O.T. from acquiring the property.
While she enjoyed these different roles in real estate, Leigh Ann always wanted the opportunity to own and grow her own brokerage.
“I have always had a passion for helping agents grow in their business and achieve more,” said Leigh Ann. “Richard and I always had that goal to own our own business, so when the time was right, we moved forward with opening a brokerage.”
Leigh Ann started researching real estate franchises when she came upon NextHome. She found the company’s culture, and vision to be aligned with what she was looking for. “When I was telling Richard about the company I thought would work for us to franchise with, it was clear all signs pointed to NextHome,” recalls Leigh Ann. “Before I could even finish telling him about it, Richard said ‘Are you talking about NextHome?’ He had done his own research and came to the same conclusion.”
NextHome Gateway Realty held their Grand Opening the last week of April 2017 to a packed house. With over 200 people in attendance, NextHome Gateway Realty has already made a huge entrance into the local community.
