Pleasanton, CA— May 10, 2017 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Parkside Realty. The new brokerage is the 8th NextHome franchise location opened in the state of North Carolina.
Based out of Durham, NextHome Parkside Realty will be owned and operated by veteran real estate broker, Jamie Dillard. The brokerage will service the local communities of Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill and the remainder of the Wake and Orange Counties.
The City of Durham is home to nearly 250,000 residents and is known for being home to one of the most iconic college basketball schools in NCAA history – Duke University. In 2007, Forbes.com named Durham as one of the Top 20 Places to Educate Your Child.
The brokerage will provide sales services for residential properties with a specialization in first time and move up home buyers.
Licensed since 1989, Dillard started his real estate career in Morehead City, NC with Century 21 Newsome Ball. Two years later, he moved to Durham where he sold real estate for Century 21 Parkwest Realty. Over the course of the next 11 years, Dillard grew his business to see more than 60 closings annually.
Dillard says his broker at the time urged him to work a traditional method that many agents were unwilling to try. He says door knocking was the foundation of his success.
“The manager of our office would drop me off in a neighborhood and I would typically knock on 200-250 doors, dropping off flyers and getting to meet people,” recalls Dillard. “It was a lot of hard work, but it taught me how to relate to people and talk with people face-to-face.”
After a decade in real estate, Dillard moved to Fonville Morisey – a regional real estate brokerage in North Carolina. While he continued to successfully sell real estate, Dillard always had the thought of opening his own brokerage.
“I heard about NextHome about a year ago,” recalls Dillard. “After learning about the company and what it could offer brokers in terms of technology and systems, I knew it was the right decision to open a NextHome brokerage when I made the jump in 2017.”
Dillard says NextHome Parkside Realty will work differently than many of the other brokerages in the Durham market.
“In my nearly 28 years in real estate, I can say that I’m someone who believes in working for your clients,” said Dillard. “Being a great listing agent isn’t about sticking a sign in the yard and putting the property on the MLS. It’s about prospecting and looking for the right buyer to help your seller get their home sold. NextHome Parkside Realty will work every day for our clients.”
When Dillard is not selling real estate, he enjoys going to the coast and golfing. Dillard and his wife of 27 years, Alice, have two children – daughter, Lindsay (23 years old) and son, Carter (21).
