2018 is upon us and a few of the NextHome Corporate team wanted to share their thoughts about the New Year!

Charis MorenoCharis Moreno – VP of Sales:

As I look towards 2018 and a new year I love to stop and think about all the incredible things that happened in the previous year and to also think about some of my goals for the NEXT year ahead.

As a wife to an amazing husband of what will be 15 years this year (22 years together), and a mother of two amazing girls (ages 9 and 13), I find what I want most in 2018 is very different than what I desired in years past.  This being said, my 2018 New Year’s Resolutions are simple:

  1. Enjoying more family time and being more present with my kids and my husband
  2. Fixing all that needs fixing physically so I can get back to running the trails and streets again
  3. Reduce my stress levels. I think by doing more of #1 and #2 then #3 may take care of itself
  4. Learn a new language
  5. Be part of the 8% that keep their New Year’s resolution, but # 4 may be what blows it for me (LOL)

We only get one shot at this thing called LIFE and to not enjoy all that we work for and all the things life brings us seems like a waste.  I want to collect more memories and experiences with those I love than I want to collect more things that can be replaced.

So CHEERS to another year gone and to the memories and experiences that are ahead for us all in 2018!

I love New Years.  The optimism.  The excitement of what the next year can hold. Everyone is undefeated at the beginning of the season. 🙂

My approach this year will be to actually do less.  Ok not really “less” less, but to focus on fewer things and do them exceptionally well.  The most successful people I know are not great at everything, they are actually masterful at a few things and spend most of their time doing those things.  So, 2018 for me is all about focus and execution.  I hope everyone gets what they want out of 2018 be it “less” or more. Happy New Year everyone!!

2017 has been a roller coaster of a year for me. From my daughter turning one year old… to going back to school…. and now becoming part of the NextHome team! Each passing day, I feel blessed to be a part of a wonderful company who truly values its employees and members.

In 2018, I am looking forward to growing both personally and professionally.  This upcoming year, I would like to focus on all of the positivity in my life, such as my husband, daughter and big family, and continuing with my education although it will be one night class/online class at a time.  I would like to grow with NextHome and am anxious to see what 2018 holds for the company!

As 2017 comes to its end, like every year, some people have the same resolutions they’ve had in the years before. For me, I’ve decided to switch it up for 2018 and implement some resolutions that are going to benefit me physically and mentally. Pursuing my MBA, trying to excel in my career and maintain a social life has been a challenge for me this year, however, these resolutions will help with all of that.

  • Get in shape: This is a cliché resolution for most, however, this is something I am very serious about doing. I have big plans for my future and my health (both physical and mental) is the number one priority.
  • Invest in my own space: Moving out of my hometown to an area closer to work and school is definitely at the top of my list. The stress of potentially being late or sitting in traffic for over an hour has been a burden for too long, and I am ready to eliminate that stress in 2018.
  •  Give back: Volunteer work and giving back to my community has always been a passion of mine and something that truly feeds my soul. I want to set aside time and give back to my community (both local and overseas) and help as much as I can.

Amanda CowlesAmanda Cowles – Franchise Development Director:

“If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop fighting for it.”

Two and a half years ago, I made NextHome Corporate my home. I joined a spectacular team of nine and together we shared a common goal of painting the world orange. At the time, I had no idea what this journey would entail, but life has a funny way of putting you where you need to be and I truly believe that.

NextHome is the first thing I think about when I wake up, and the last thing I think about before I go to bed. #passion

The family that we are building together means more to me than words can describe. In 2018, we will really be bringing the new Franchise Development Coordinator position to life and I will be pushing myself in ways I haven’t before.

You deserve the best version of me that I can be, and it’s not fair to you for me to settle. Having a team that relies on you is one hell of a motivation and I look forward to growing together in 2018. Cheers!

I’m not big on New Year’s Resolutions as I don’t feel like the spark of a new year should somehow inspire new goals or aspirations. For 2018, I look forward to spending more time with my family, especially my 6 1/2-month-old daughter, traveling more, and as always, eating good food and drinking lots of wine.

2017 was a fun filled year but ended with a lot of struggles for myself and for my family. If I have learned anything this year, it is that I can get through this. I am strong and I am not alone. I had days where I didn’t think I’d be able to pull through, yet I found the strength. I lost a couple of very important role models and women in my life but at the end of the day I reminded myself I have too many other things to be thankful for.

My support system is one of my biggest gifts I received this year. Having my boyfriend, Joseph, and my father help me through all these hardships is what I will forever be grateful for. They were my rocks and got me through this year reminding me that everything will eventually be okay. We got through all of these tough times together which made our relationships that much stronger.

Secondly, NextHome has been a huge blessing in my life this year. All of my past jobs, I would have to hide my emotions and put on a brave face for everyone. But here I get showered with hugs and receive notes telling me how appreciated and loved I am. I have never had a good working environment such as this one. I feel welcomed, I wake up every morning with a purpose and I don’t take anything for granted. All the people I get to work with is something I will never forget. I didn’t know your coworkers could really become your work family but NextHome managed to do so effortlessly.

For 2018, I am looking forward to helping our numbers double in Office and Agent count if not triple it! I am pushing hard to grow within this company and get closer and closer with all of our amazing members.  I haven’t met this genuine of people in a long time and it is extremely refreshing. I know that in 2017 I found a home here. In 2018 I can’t wait to have our family get that much bigger and stronger.

I will continue to be the support for my family as well as Joseph’s. I will constantly remind each and every family member how much I love them and how I’ll always be their shoulder to lean on no matter what. I am going to be super woman in 2018. I can feel it. If I can get through 2017 I can confidently say that 2018 will be a breeze. I am hoping to get a gym membership (just like everyone else for New Year’s) and prove to myself that I have the self-control and determination to get back down to my old weight. Salads in my near future! 2018 will be the year that I am happy, healthy and supportive. I can’t wait!

Imran Poladi – VP of Business Development:

2017 was a year full of travel, personal and professional development, but most memorable of all – the year I got engaged 🙂

Having 50 of my closest friends and family on hand for my 40th birthday party (that Jessica put on) was an amazing feeling. Best of all EVERYONE knew I was proposing to her, except her of course 😉

To have so many people travel from all over the country to be there for that special moment meant the world to me.

2018 has so many fun adventures ahead and I’m happy that I found the woman to be right by my side through it all.
