Pleasanton, CA — January 2, 2018 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Village Realty. The brokerage represents the 36th location opened in Florida for the NextHome franchise.
Based in Lady Lake, the company will be owned and operated by real estate broker, Jody Ashley. NextHome Village Realty will provide real estate services such as single family residential sales, first-time home buyers, multi-family properties, condos, veteran and military relocation, and investment sales to the communities of Lady Lake, Ocala, Clermont, Mt. Dora, and the remainder of the Lake County area.
The town of Lady Lake is located about one hour west of Orlando and is home to 14,000 residents.
A second-generation REALTOR®, Ashley started his real estate career in 2014 after years in restaurant management and ownership.
Ashley was a Managing Partner and operated several Outback Steakhouse franchises and understands the value of what a franchise can provide to an ownership team of any type of business.
“Working in the restaurant industry before real estate helped me understand best practices in marketing, leadership and working within a franchise,” said Ashley. “Those skills have helped me in real estate immensely.”
Starting with RE/MAX in Indianapolis in 2014, he was a single agent before joining the Home to Indy team, led by Paula Henry, two years later.
When Henry decided to open her own brokerage with the NextHome franchise in 2016, Ashley stayed on the team and was able to experience the NextHome advantage first hand.
“As a part of Paula’s team, I was able to attend the NextHome Conference in New Orleans in March of 2017,” said Ashley. “Not only was this a company at the cutting-edge of technology, but one that genuinely cares about each one of the members of the franchise.”
In 2017, Ashley and his wife of 22 years, Misti, decided to relocate to Florida. Growing up in Florida, Ashley had many family members back home and wanted to be closer to them.
“Moving back to Florida was the perfect catalyst to open my own NextHome franchised location,” said Ashley. “Paula supported me with this transition and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to open NextHome Village Realty.”
Besides real estate, Ashley is passionate about helping others, specifically children.
The Ashleys are volunteers with an organization called Safe Families. The purpose of the organization is to place children in foster care in a temporary home while the adoption process is being completed. The Ashleys have opened their home to many children, as many as 10 foster children at the same time.
When not selling real estate, the Ashleys spend time with their four children – Jacob (age 23), Jessica (age 24), and twin 18-year-old daughters Amy and Alyssa.
