Pleasanton, CA — February 6, 2018— NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Alliance. The brokerage represents the sixth location opened in the state of Arizona for the NextHome franchise.
Based in Queen Creek, the company will be owned and operated by business partners Chris Benson and Scott Baglien. NextHome Alliance will provide real estate services such as single family residential sales, first-time home buyers, multi-family properties, investment sales, veteran and military relocation services, and second home and vacation properties to the areas of Queen Creek, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Apache Junction, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and the remainder of Maricopa and Pinal Counties.
Queen Creek is a suburb city that lies southeast of the city of Mesa, with a population of just over 35,000 residents.
Benson started his real estate sales career in 2003 after nearly a decade of working in default servicing with Citi Financial Mortgage. Working in the REO division, Benson was well versed in helping close short sales and foreclosures for the bank. Not only did he process short sales, he often ended up coaching real estate agents on how to complete the forms and sell homes that were in distress.
Seeing an opportunity to work on the sales side of the business, Benson became a REALTOR® with Desert 2 Mountain Realty. Putting his skills from the previous company to use, Benson quickly rose to the ranks of the top producers in his area.
When the market turned in 2007, Benson’s REO and short sales experience was more useful than ever.
When the distressed market for properties switched back to a more traditional market in 2012, Benson and a team of business partners opened their own brokerage – Estate Realty.
In 2014, Baglien joined Estate Realty after a 25-year career in restaurant management with companies such as TGI Friday’s and Applebee’s. Looking for a career that would allow more traditional hours, Baglien wanted to have a schedule that didn’t take such a toll.
“Being a General Manager for a restaurant requires nights that end sometimes as late as 2am, followed up by a morning that starts really early,” recalled Baglien. “As a father and a husband, I wanted to be there more for my family than the restaurant industry allowed.”
Baglien dove right into the business and Benson took notice. The two started working together in 2015 when Baglien assisted Benson on several transactions as a coordinator. Without formally creating a team, the two men worked together over the course of the next two years on most transactions.
In 2017, Benson felt it was time to go out on his own and open his own brokerage. After watching the NextHome franchise over the previous three years, Benson approached Baglien about opening a brokerage with him.
“Seeing how the NextHome franchise grew not only just here in Arizona, but across the nation, it made a lot of sense for us to open our brokerage under the NextHome brand,” said Benson.
In 2017, the partners sold nearly 50 transactions and over $17 million in sales volume.
When not selling real estate, Benson and Baglien are heavily involved with their church and their families.
Benson has been married to his wife Shauna for 20 years. The couple have three daughters – Kacie, Brooklyn, and Brea. Kacie is married and is expecting her first child in April 2018. Brooklyn is a high school senior who will be attending Arizona State University and the Water Cronkite School of Broadcasting. Brea is a high school sophomore and is involved in cheerleading and modeling.
Baglien has been married to his wife Cory for nine years and the couple have a blended family of five children. Baglien is involved in youth hockey coaching for both grade school and high school players.
Please join us in congratulating Chris, Scott, and the rest of the team at NextHome Alliance on the opening of their brand new NextHome office in Queen Creek, AZ!
