Pleasanton, CA — May 21, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Modern, based in Austin, Texas. The brokerage represents the 39th office location opened in Texas for the NextHome franchise and the 574th NextHome office opened nationally.
Under the leadership of broker/owner Ken Fox, NextHome Modern will serve buyers and sellers across the Austin Metro area. In addition to serving all types of residential clients, the brokerage specializes in architecturally significant and mid-century properties as well as high-rise and mid-rise condos and lofts.
“My first passion has always been real estate, and I was thrilled for the opportunity to finally make that my full-time career back in 2011 joining Bay Area Modern Real Estate,” Ken said.
While selling with Bay Area Modern, Ken became an expert in Eichler homes.
Developer, Joseph Eichler, not only set the standard for mid-century modern architecture in the 1950s, he also had a non-discrimination policy offering new homes to minorities when housing discrimination was legal. Today, more than 11,000 of his homes dot the Northern California region, with their iconic clean lines and avant-garde architecture.
Ken became the top Eichler REALTOR® in the region and his work gained national attention in niche real estate publications. He was consistently among the top five real estate professionals at his brokerage.
Despite his success, as a native Mississippian, Ken’s heart was back in the South and fell in love with the unique music and art scene as well as the hilly landscape and lakes of Texas Hill Country, and he and his husband decided to make it their permanent home.
With all his years of experience, 2020 was the right time for Ken to open his own Austin-based brokerage.
As Ken researched opportunities, NextHome’s value caught his attention.
