Pleasanton, CA — May 11, 2022 — NextHome is proud to announce the opening of NextHome Gulf Winds in Corpus Christi, Texas. The brokerage represents the 540th office to join the NextHome franchise out of 580 active office locations across the country.
NextHome Gulf Winds expands on the success of broker/owner Thomas Price’s flagship NextHome franchise in State College, Pennsylvania.
“I am originally from Texas and opening a brokerage here felt like coming home,” Thomas said.
The brokerage is located about two hours south of San Antonio near stunning stretches of seashore, with access to unique dining, charming downtown areas, and world-class seafood restaurants.
NextHome Gulf Winds will serve clients throughout Port Aransas, Portland, Rockport, and the remainder of Nueces County.
“As I traveled through Corpus Christi, I knew this is where I am supposed to go,” Thomas said. “I get to come back home and serve this amazing, Gulf Coast location all at the same time.”
Under Thomas’s leadership, NextHome Gulf Winds aims to be a home for principled, character-driven agents who put humans over houses every time.
“Our clients can expect personal service,” Thomas said. “They are going to be able to experience their real estate transaction as if they are the only client their agent is working with.”
Thomas started his real estate career in June of 2013 after years of working in the municipal transit industry. While working for the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA), Thomas found his inspiration in an audio CD.
“I spent a lot of time listening to Robert Kiyosaki and finding out more about investing and setting up for retirement,” said Thomas. “After learning as much as I could about setting our family up for the future, a friend suggested I look into real estate. I did and I haven’t looked back.”
After a short stint with a small local brokerage, Thomas moved to KBB Realtors – a regional brokerage located in State College. It was at that company where Thomas really began to hit his stride as a buyer’s agent for a top team at the brokerage.
In his first full year of real estate, Thomas closed 12 transactions. The following year, he left the team to become an independent agent and closed 15 homes on his own.
In 2016, Thomas focused on enhancing the real estate experience for his clients and had his best year – doubling his sales volume from the previous year.
Thomas found NextHome after meeting a broker of another real estate franchise who really liked what the company had to offer.
“He shared with me that if he wasn’t already a franchisee of his current company, he would have made the move to NextHome,” Thomas recalled. “I started researching the company and really liked what I saw.”
Thomas opened NextHome Price Point Realty in 2017.
“All these years later, NextHome is my family.” Thomas said. “When I first started, it was about a business opportunity and an opportunity to expand my career in real estate. Now, it feels like being a part of a family business. I can reach out to anyone at any time. You are never a stranger among NextHomies. It’s just the culture that’s been created from day one.”
Today, Thomas is excited to carry the NextHome name forward in both Pennsylvania and Texas. Looking to the future, Thomas hopes to open satellite offices throughout the Gulf Coast area.
“By having branch offices in two of the outer cities here will save a lot of traveling time for our agents and make client care more efficient,” Thomas said.
That dedication to customer service permeates every aspect of NextHome Gulf Winds.
“Each person will feel that their transaction is the most important transaction that could possibly be happening at that time,” Thomas said. “A NextHome Gulf Winds client will not feel like a number that gets lost in the mix.”

When he isn’t working, Thomas is an avid fisherman who also enjoys spending time visiting local restaurants, and spending time at the area’s beautiful beaches.
“I love hanging out at the beach and letting the dogs run,” Thomas said. “That Southern hospitality is just something I’ve been waiting to get back to for so many years and it is amazing to be here and experience all that Corpus Christi has to offer.”
