Located in the Richmond, Virginia suburbs, NextHome Integrity Realty serves clients throughout Henrico, Hanover, New Kent, King William, Goochland, Powhatan, and Chesterfield counties.
NextHome Integrity Realty is owned by Janet Nowlin, a real estate professional with a passion for client-centered service.
Before starting in real estate sales, Janet spent more than 20 years building thriving careers in information technology and K-12 education. After the experience of selling her own home, Janet knew she could combine her IT and education backgrounds to create a powerful real estate career.
“Real estate was a perfect fit for my personality that combined the best aspects of both of my previous careers,” Janet said. “The buying and selling process is a whole lot easier if you understand how to skillfully leverage technology, and teaching is both a passion and talent. I love guiding people along through the process.”
Janet quickly went on to earn several NAR designations and certificates including Pricing Strategy Advisor, Military Relocation, e-Pro, as well as a Commitment to Excellence and At Home With Diversity certification. Today, she especially enjoys helping families achieve their home ownership dreams.
In 2018, Janet began selling as a NextHome associate.
“NextHome embraced all the same values I do,” Janet said. “I found a franchise that knows how to treat people and understands what real estate should be. I was attracted to NextHome by the heart and soul of the company and the people who run it. What other company can you work with where the CEO sends you an email and says, ‘let’s do a Zoom.’ There’s not that sense of community with any other company. It’s a fabulous group of people.”
As Janet’s career continued to evolve, she knew she wanted to own her own NextHome brokerage.
“As the owner of my own office, I can provide unparalleled service,” Janet said. “NextHome offers the flexibility to run my business my way. The corporate structure is set up to help me be successful as I provide exceptional client service.”
Today, NextHome Integrity Realty is bringing Janet’s vision of client-centered service to life.

As the brokerage continues to evolve, Janet aims to keep NextHome Integrity Realty small and client focused.
“I want to measure our success on the lives we’ve been able to change, not the volume of homes we sell or the money we make,” Janet said. “We are not now, and don’t ever intend to be, an office where clients get tossed around from person to person. To us, you are a human being with hopes and dreams that we will tirelessly work to help you achieve.”
Under Janet’s leadership, NextHome Integrity Realty associates will be people of integrity who focus on relationship building.
“We do several things as a brokerage to keep clients at the center of everything we do, including regular community events where people can simply connect and talk,” Janet said. “The right associate for our brokerage will have at their center a passion for community, connection, compassion, communication, and building a thriving workplace culture.”
Janet’s commitment to her community extends far beyond the office. She is a dedicated volunteer with James River Greyhounds and Greyt Love Retirement. The organizations help facilitate adoptions and retirements for racing greyhounds. In addition to her love for dogs, Janet is also passionate about high-quality education. She spent four years on the Hanover County Public School Gifted Advisory Council, and she intends to continue that work again next year. Janet has also served her local real estate association on the communications and programs committees.
Janet and her husband Dennis have been married for 31 years and they are the parents of a blended family of three adult children and one 16-year-old grandson. Janet and Dennis are also the proud pet parents of two retired racing greyhounds: Rosie and Skye.
