Pleasanton, CA — March 30, 2023 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Tri-Covenant Realty, located in Lawton, Oklahoma. The brokerage joins the growing NextHome franchise that currently has 610 active office locations across the country.
Located just over an hour south of Oklahoma City, NextHome Tri-Covenant Realty serves clients throughout Lawton, Elgin, Fletcher, Cache, and the remainder of Comanche and Cotton County. The brokerage specializes in military relocations, residential sales, property management, and all other types of residential real estate services.
NextHome Tri-Covenant Realty is owned by the mother-and-daughter team of Brenda Spencer-Ragland and Carrie Dawn Austin. Together, Brenda and Carrie provide exceptional representation for all types of residential buyers and sellers. However, the duo is especially well-versed in military relocations after a lifetime of family military service.
Brenda began her career in real estate management in 1992 as a housing management intern, Brenda helped hundreds of military families find places to call home during their service assignments.
“Housing has always been a passion of mine,” Brenda said. “It’s hard for people to achieve all they want in life without quality housing that is safe and secure. It brings me joy to help people meet that need.”
For the next several years, Brenda discovered a passion for serving military families as she sharpened her own real estate knowledge. Brenda became Director of Housing Management and navigated both on-base housing as well as military housing privatization. Brenda later served as the Director of Family and MWR, Fort Sill.
In 2018, Brenda retired from her career with the military, and served as the President and CEO, Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce where she led the team to achieve five-star accreditation, the first time in the Chamber’s history. She then worked with RE/MAX Professionals. Her dedicated and heartfelt service launched her into the top tiers of her profession, achieving 99 transactions in her first year and also the award for rookie of the year.
“It’s exciting to see all the customers and clients come in and rave about how wonderful my mom is,” Carrie said. “I love working with her on a daily basis.”
Carrie built her own career for 17 years as a military relocation specialist. She obtained her real estate sales license in 2021 and, after building her own success, Carrie knew that joining her mom in real estate was the right move.
“In every real estate transaction, there is a family with real lives and hopes and dreams,” Carrie said. “It was important to me and my mom to build a business based on that premise.”
As they launched their own brokerage, Brenda and Carrie knew that NextHome’s Humans Over Houses approach to real estate aligned perfectly with their own business philosophy.
“I can’t count how many times I’ve said something similar to Humans Over Houses throughout my career,” Brenda added. “So when we discovered NextHome, we knew we had found the right franchise.”
Today, both Carrie and Brenda are firmly resolved to run their business with principles and ethics at the center. The name Tri-Covenant Realty emphasizes that commitment.
“Faith, Family, and Friends, in that order, are the three driving forces behind everything we do,” Brenda explained. “We also wanted our clients to know that our commitment to them is more than just a promise, it’s a covenant relationship.”
“We treat clients as if they are family,” Carrie added. “We care about our community and the people who make up our community, and we are here to provide exceptional real estate representation for them.”
Throughout the community, both Brenda and Carrie are dedicated to giving back.
Brenda serves on the Comanche County Community Health Center Board, the Lawton Public School Foundation Board, Lawton Farmers’ Market, and the governor’s commission for the prevention of suicide. Brenda also volunteers for the Girl Scouts of America on their growth and development committee. In addition, Brenda serves on the property management committee for her local real estate board.
In addition to all this, Brenda is a lifelong learner who holds two Master’s Degrees, one in Communication and one in Public Administration both from the University of Oklahoma. She is also pursuing her doctorate, with Creighton University, with her thesis work centering on collaborative efforts to prevent homelessness for veterans.
Carrie serves on the advisory committee for the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic and is the loving mother of two daughters, ages 11 and 16. Her commitment to faith and family shines in both her business and personal life.
Carrie, like her mom, attended the University of Oklahoma. Carrie is a dedicated Oklahoma Sooners fan and dog lover who also raises livestock on the family farm. In addition to her talents on the farm, Carrie enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and daughters.
Please join us in congratulating Brenda and Carrie on the opening of NextHome Tri-Covenant Realty in Lawton, Oklahoma!
