NextHome Olive Branch Real Estate is owned by Michelle Selvey, a third-generation real estate professional with a passion for helping families achieve their home ownership dreams.
Michelle obtained her real estate sales license in 2014 after watching her mother and grandmother excel in the field for more than 30 years.
“Real estate was a natural fit because of my background, the joy I got from helping people, and I had the opportunity to learn the ropes from my mom who was exceptionally good at what she did,” Michelle said.
Prior to real estate, Michelle spent 20 years as a physical therapy assistant, giving her a unique talent for patiently guiding people toward their goals.
After obtaining her license, Michelle worked at a local independent brokerage before moving to work alongside her mother and other talented professionals as the Broker in Charge at Lake Norman Realty.
Michelle quickly developed a reputation for knowledgeable and compassionate service. She entered the top tiers of listing agents at her agency in 2021 and was recognized regionally with a Seven-Star Certificate of Excellence in Real Estate.
Despite remarkable awards, Michelle’s greatest professional achievements are the lives she has changed for the better.
“One client was a single mother who needed a safer place to raise her children,” Michelle recalled. “Although it meant more work for everyone involved, we were able to connect her with grant programs and found her a much better home, school, and neighborhood. Those experiences mean so much more than any awards.”
Eventually Michelle knew it was time to take the next step in her career.
“It’s been a life goal to open my own brokerage,” Michelle said. “I wanted to create a real estate office that had a family feel, but also offered great technology, tools, marketing, and support.”
One day, Michelle showed a house that was listed with a NextHome agent.
“I was impressed,” Michelle said. “I started calling NextHome owners and asking more questions. Everyone said it was the best thing they had ever done. With that kind of feedback, I knew I had found the right fit.”
Today, NextHome Olive Branch Real Estate is going the extra mile to help clients find home buying happiness.

Michelle’s dedication to family and heart for serving others extends far beyond the office. Michelle and her husband Adam are the proud parents of three children: Sydney, Patrick, and Emma. Patrick serves in the Air Force, meaning that honoring veterans is a cause near and dear to Michelle’s heart. The family has volunteered with Wreath for Veterans, a nonprofit that makes sure every service member’s headstone has a wreath recognizing their sacrifice.
