NextHome Capital Region is owned by lifelong Schenectady local and experienced real estate professional Michael Mascitelli.
Michael’s real estate sales career began over 30 years ago when he joined a small, boutique firm. Just two years later, in 1996, Michael opened his own independent brokerage: Capital and Preferred Properties.
“I’ve always enjoyed simplifying the process of real estate for people,” Michael said. “My greatest successes are not awards or trophies, but the people who I have helped find their first home or their dream home. Meeting your real estate needs is my highest priority.”
In 2014, Michael delved into real estate investing and built a thriving personal portfolio. Today, he is excited to walk clients through every step of real estate investing.

After more than 28 years of operating his own independent business, Michael saw real estate evolving and knew it was time to take his career to the next level. When he discovered NextHome, Michael was impressed by the streamlined support, marketing, and technology.

Michael has been married to his wife Angela for 34 years and together they are the proud parents of three children, and grandparents to one with another expected soon.

Together, the family enjoys weekly dinners and the occasional family vacation.
