NextHome The Agency Group evolved from an established Summerville Long & Foster Office that Lonnie was able to acquire after many years with the company. With decades of dedicated service, Lonnie has a strong track record as an industry veteran, turning new ventures into thriving businesses. His deep connections in the local community position him as an excellent leader.

Lonnie has been a leader in real estate for over 25 years, earning a reputation as a trusted advisor for clients and a mentor for agents. He studied finance at Radford University before launching his real estate career. In 1999, Lonnie, along with Forrest Odend’hal and Patrick Cowne, founded their own brokerage and property management firm. This venture caught the attention of industry leaders, leading to its acquisition by Long & Foster in 2004.
Joining Long & Foster’s leadership team, Lonnie played a pivotal role in opening, merging, and managing multiple offices across the Northern Virginia market. His expertise in business development and agent support earned him the position of Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Long & Foster, overseeing operations in Washington D.C., Montgomery County, Maryland, and the South Carolina Region.
During a stint in Charleston from 2007 to 2009, Lonnie and his family developed a deep affection for the area, ultimately adopting South Carolina as their hometown. This experience enriched Lonnie’s understanding of diverse real estate markets and further fueled his commitment to client success and agent development.
Throughout his career, Lonnie has launched numerous programs in direct response to agent needs. In just one example, the Agent Service Group provided industry-leading marketing and transaction management support to agents directly.
When Lonnie had the opportunity to acquire the Summerville-based Long & Foster office in 2024, he was excited about the opportunity to convert it into a NextHome franchise.
“I was looking for a back office solution and didn’t want to start from scratch,” Lonnie said. “I started researching different alternatives and discovered The Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered Podcast with NextHome’s James Dwiggins and Keith Robinson. Today, Lonnie is leading an office of more than 60 experienced agents into the future through NextHome’s innovative approach to real estate.
