Pleasanton, CA— April 4, 2017 — NextHome is proud to announce our newest addition to the NextHome franchise – NextHome Prestige. It is the 3rd NextHome franchise location opened in the state of New York.
Based out of Staten Island, the new brokerage will be owned and operated by 18-year real estate veteran and broker, Alex Levin.
NextHome Prestige will provide real estate services such as residential sales, new construction sales, commercial sales, land sales and investment property sales in the entire Staten Island area including North Shore, Mid Island, and South Shore.
Staten Island is the least populated of the five boroughs that make up New York City. With a population of just over 500,000, Staten Island is known for the Staten Island Ferry which takes riders to and from Manhattan.
At the age of 30, Levin immigrated to the United States after living in Israel for over a decade. He settled in Staten Island where he found being in business for himself more appealing than working for someone else’s company.
As a personal driver for many businessmen and businesswomen, Levin enjoyed owning his own car service. In addition to having his transportation business, he attained his real estate license in 1999. He found a true passion for real estate and wanted to have that opportunity available to him. Unfortunately, he had little time to spend in real estate due to his booming car service business.
In May 2000, Levin suffered a major heart attack which prevented him from running the day-to-day operations of his business. When he returned in 2001, he was back to driving his clients to and from various locations throughout New York City – including the World Trade Center.
“I happened to be dropping off a client at the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks,” recalls Levin. “I was very lucky to have escaped the situation, but I lost many friends and clients to that terrible tragedy.”
With two life changing events happening in a just two years, Levin convinced his wife, Inna, that it was time to follow his passion of selling real estate.
In 2002, Levin completed his first year in real estate and sold more than 40 transaction sides. Just two years later, Levin would go on to get his broker’s license and open his own brokerage – Staten Island Dream House, Inc.
Even while selling over 70 transactions annually and running his brokerage, Levin says helping agents achieve their goals personally and professionally is one of the most rewarding parts of being a broker.
“There are over 1,800 agents in Staten Island,” said Levin. “And one of my proudest moments was seeing one of my agents achieve being in the Top 20 agents in Staten Island. To think I played a small part in helping them achieve that makes me so happy.”
When it came time to give more to both his agents and his clients, Levin looked at franchising options, but none of them really appealed to him.
“These big franchise brands have huge budgets to spend, but the tools weren’t anything special,” recalls Levin. “Only NextHome provided the exceptional service and technology I wanted in an affordable package.”
“After getting feedback from my daughter, Natalie, I knew NextHome was best for our business,” added Levin.
When not selling real estate, Levin loves spending time with his wife of 34 years and the rest of their family. He and Inna have two children –Natalie, who handles the brokerage’s public relations and listing marketing; and Danielle, who lives in London working in the dental industry.
The Levin’s have three grandchildren – granddaughters Lielle (3 years old), Emmy (1) and grandson Max (1).
