NextHome Music City Realty offers real estate expertise to clients throughout northern Tennessee, including Murfreesboro, Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin, Spring Hill, Gallatin, and the remainder of Rutherford, Williamson, Davidson, Wilson, Sumner, Cannon, and Bedford counties.
The brokerage is owned by Tad Ritchison and Todd Grubaugh. Tad will handle the brokerage’s day to day operations and finances, while Todd will focus on agent support and recruitment. Tad and Todd are combining their vast experience across many facets of real estate to create a one-stop-shop brokerage that meets the diverse needs of their clients.

Some agents offer expertise in luxury, investment, and out-of-state acquisitions. Other agents have decades of experience in right-sizing and short sales. Tad offers unparalleled knowledge around numerous niches in real estate, including new home construction and commercial properties.
Tad’s vast experience includes roles as Coachman Motorhome’s Vice President, the Vice President of Champion Homes, and a long career in large-scale residential development.
Tad began his real estate career in 1990 with Coldwell Banker, working in single-family home new construction. Throughout the following years, he led several development projects throughout the United States, some as large as 6,500 homes and 100 multi-level projects.
Tad also put his talents to use in Detroit, partnering with Jesse Jackson Jr. to build 1,400 homes with a focus on helping those in the inner city. That drive to give back also propelled Tad to work with the Bush administration on a project to rebuild homes after hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005. Tad’s expertise in custom homes also led him to an opportunity to partner with world-renowned architect Michelle Kaufmann on a Chicago-based project.
In the early 2000s, Tad fell in love with the Nashville area and began putting down roots. He and Todd met in 2016 while working on the same team at a Nashville-area real estate franchise. The duo eventually joined a NextHome brokerage. As their success grew, Tad and Todd were approached by several different groups.
“But we knew we couldn’t leave,” Tad said. “Our processes are here, and NextHome is an amazing company, the logos are fantastic, the back office is amazing. Why would we reinvent the wheel when we have it all right here?”
When an opportunity came to open a brokerage in a great area of downtown Murfreesboro, Tad and Todd jumped at the chance to lead their own NextHome franchise.
As the brokerage grows, NextHome Music City Realty aims to offer industry-leading talent and resources for every type of residential and commercial client. The brokerage has patterned with a foreclosure specialist who offers 25 years of experience and represents 33 different lending institutions.
