Pleasanton, CA— June 14, 2016 — NextHome is proud to announce our latest addition to the franchise, NextHome TwoFourFive. The brokerage represents the second NextHome franchise in the state of Virginia.
Owned and operated by the three business partners of Wanda Ott, Scott Elliott, and Brandon Tomlin, the Lynchburg-based brokerage will provide residential real estate services to the areas of Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell, Belford and the surrounding Central Virginia area.
Ott began her real estate career as the manager of a local real estate office in 2001. Under her leadership, the brokerage became one of the top firms in the area – growing the business from 12 agents to more than 40 REALTORS®.
In 2007 after her children graduated from college, Ott made the decision to actively sell as an agent while still maintaining her role as manager for the firm.
“With my schedule freeing up quite a bit when the kids graduated, it allowed me to be as practitioner of real estate while still managing,” said Ott. “Our agents were very open minded and really didn’t see it being a conflict of interest. In fact, it only solidified the fact that I was walking my talk.”
After almost 14 years of working as a manager for someone else’s brokerage, Ott thought it was the right time to pursue her own venture. In 2015, Ott attained her brokers license and began exploring opportunities to open her own brokerage.
With her experience in working with both Elliott and Tomlin in the past, Ott knew that both could bring a lot of value to a brokerage through their vast expertise as builders.
Elliott is the owner operator of a custom real estate building and design firm, while Tomlin builds and develops subdivisions with a focus on speculative homes. In forming the partnership, the three owners each bring an important and diverse value to the brokerage.
NextHome TwoFourFive is currently completing the final specifications to Trent’s Landing – a subdivision featuring 97 brand new homes located in Campbell County. The development is set to hit the market in Fall 2016.
“By becoming a franchisee with NextHome, combined with our dedication to creating quality homes for our community, we are excited about what NextHome TwoFourFive will bring to buyers and sellers,” said Ott. “We are committed to making the client the most important piece of the transaction.”
Locally, the Ott dedicates their time to help families in need through a non-profit organization she created with a real estate colleague called DecoVate. The name is a mix of the words “decorate” and “renovate”. The volunteers of DecoVate spend time fixing houses of those in need of changes to the home due to injury or illness, but cannot afford to renovate the home.
Ott’s humanitarian efforts are not limited to the local community either. As a volunteer with the non-profit organization, World Help, Ott has taken trips to help struggling communities in Guatemala and other locations in need of assistance provide basic services such as clean water or clothing.
“We are very fortunate to be adding a team of professionals such as Wanda, Scott and Brandon to the NextHome family,” said NextHome’s Vice President of Business Development Imran Poladi. “Their business resume speaks for itself, but the fact that they are incredible people, make this partnership so special.”
Please join us in welcoming Wanda, Scott, Brandon and the rest of the team at NextHome TwoFourFive to the NextHome family!
