Pleasanton, CA — April 8, 2021 — NextHome is pleased to announce the newest addition to the franchise, NextHome Desert Oasis, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The brokerage represents the 10th office location opened in Arizona for the NextHome franchise and the 557th NextHome office opened nationally.
NextHome Desert Oasis will serve clients across the Phoenix Metro area, including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, and Scottsdale.
Under the leadership of broker/owner Desri Neether, NextHome Desert Oasis offers expertise in relocations, investment properties, and many other types of residential real estate.
Early on, Desri knew she wanted to be in a career where she could leverage her exceptional work ethic to create her own success. So, in 2013, she stepped away from 10 years as a pharmacist, obtained her real estate license, and began selling with a small, independent brokerage. Throughout the next five years, Desri built a reputation for excellence in the community and discovered her passion for great workplace culture.
In 2017 Desri met Scott Louser, owner of NextHome Legendary Properties, while volunteering on her state association’s government affairs committee.
“He started telling me about NextHome and within the first few sentences I knew that NextHome was right for me,” Desri said. “It was what I was looking for that no one else in the market had.”
Desri joined NextHome Legendary Properties as its sales manager and launched the brokerage’s Bismarck, North Dakota expansion.
Her exceptional leadership skills helped the office grow from five to more than 32 accomplished agents within three years. Desri knew how to attract the right kind of people to the brokerage, making it a desirable home for the area’s best and brightest talent.
“Recruiting came easily because of the culture we created,” Desri said. “It was fun, and the more accomplished agents we brought over, the more chatter in the community there was. It grew organically, the way it is supposed to.”
Eventually, Desri helped the brokerage expand again into two additional North Dakota markets.
However, her long-term plan was always to join family and friends in Arizona. Desri’s boyfriend, Ben Larson, had already laid the groundwork for a life in Phoenix by successfully investing in properties and flipping homes there. Desri also knew her dreams were achievable, because after beating breast cancer, she knew she could do just about anything.
“2015 was a long year of treatment and insecurities and fear,” Desri said. “But that experience sparked me to become more involved, to go farther in real estate. I knew that in my business I was not going to let one little setback stop me – cancer put challenges into perspective for me. If I can beat cancer, nothing can stop me.”
2020 became the year Desri decided to make her dream a reality, and she knew that owning her own NextHome franchise was part of that dream.
Today, Desri is building NextHome Desert Oasis with exceptional agent talent. The brokerage is a welcome home for experienced agents who enjoy a phenomenal workplace culture.
“I am thrilled to build our brand recognition here and show clients what NextHome does differently and why it is the best brokerage out there,” Desri said.
Desri has served as an integral part of her state and local associations for many years. She was the President of the Bismarck/Mandan Board in 2019 and has also served at the state level in government affairs. Desri has also served on numerous association committees and led many MLS vendors as they implemented technology changes locally. She was recognized as North Dakota Realtor of the Year in 2019.
Her heart for service also extends to fellow breast cancer survivors. Desri is the founder of a young survivors breast cancer support group, which has evolved from an in-person group to a Facebook group. Today, it provides connections for more than 80 members from across the country.
Since moving to Arizona, Desri has discovered a passion for hiking and enjoys taking in the Phoenix area’s breathtaking beauty.
